School Council

"Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others."

-Phillippians 2:4

At Christ Church CE Junior School, we value the voice and opinion of every student. The School Council works in partnership with the school staff and governors, parents and the student body to make decisions for the benefit of the school community. The Council is made up of 16 students, with 2 representatives from each classroom.

Student Voice

As Student Council representatives we were elected by our class and our role in school is to listen to our friends and share information. Sometimes we share ideas, too. During meetings we make notes for our meeting minutes.

We help to organise events at school. We helped with World Book Day by making certificates. We sometimes conduct polls to ask our classmates different questions so we can give the Headteacher guidance on different issues or ideas about our school.

We also raise money and awareness for different charities. We have held a successful Bake Sale to raise money and awareness for a local charity which ensures that disabled people enjoy as full and active a life as possible.

This year we have chosen 3 charities:

Water Aid (International)

Martha's Trust (Local)

Marine Conservation Society (National)
