"God used beautiful mathematics in creating the world."

-Paul Dirac (1902 – 1984)

Here at Christ Church Junior School maths lessons are lively, challenging and fun!  We believe children should discuss mathematical ideas in order to understand how things work and why they work.  Children explore their world in search of patterns in maths and in the world around them, ultimately finding that mathematics is everywhere.   Children develop their mathematical skills, learning to explain and reason mathematically, through working collaboratively in problem solving, investigations, and practical activities.  The children enjoy Maths in different settings, using My Maths for some of their homework activities.  They have completed an Easter Challenge on Manga High where 222 out of 256 of our children played Maths games for 10 days.  They came 2nd out of 229 primary schools in the country.  The children enjoy challenging themselves in lessons and actively seek opportunities to push themselves further.   Maths at Christ Church is fun!
